Grants Coordinator – STEM

The Grants Coordinator – STEM for locating, researching, and applying for grants that meet an organization's needs within the STEM fields. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to research funding sources related to the field of STEM

  • Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.

  • Database management skills.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.

  • Experience with grant software.

  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

  • Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.

  • Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.

 

Essential Functions

  • Research new sources of public and private grant funding

  • Work with appropriate staff on grant narratives, goals, outcomes, and updates as needed

  • Write proposals and applications for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects to foundations, corporations, and government sources

  • Work with all required internal constituents and submit timely and accurate reports for all grant funded projects

  • Create and maintain grant/report schedule, deadlines, progress and awards

  • Maintain accurate foundation records and contact information in databases

  • Professionally and effectively work with other departments, donors, and community

  • Organize meetings with Business and Industry Leaders

  • Communicate with employers

  • Coordinate professional development for faculty and staff as related to grant funding

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years of experience in grant writing
